Busman Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 He De Hi have got to get a Roof box for the Gal , EBay shops have some good deals on the Thule 900 Atlantis but they only reccomend the 780 would the 900 be a bit too long. has anyone got one or should I go for the halfords 580 Ltr and pay a lot more in the store? :D Quote
MrT Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I use the older Thule Vision 850 which is 3cm shorter (90cm wide) and the only issue is I have to make sure it is mounted far enough forward so that the bike rack on the tailgate does not catch it when the tailgate is raised. I can also get a bike alongside this on the roof. It is the overall weight you have to watch. I also recommend putting soft stuff in the roof box or tying the contents down otherwise you will get a lot of banging and sliding around. If you are short, you may have problems loading and unloading it. Quote
~adema~ Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Hi I use a Halfrauds 740L box on Thule bars. Quote
mumof4 Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Ok..so im going to ask a pretty daft question now...i thought those long bars on the top of the car were for attaching a roof box to....i take it im wrong??? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Ok..so im going to ask a pretty daft question now...i thought those long bars on the top of the car were for attaching a roof box to....i take it im wrong??? No, your halfway there, if you have roof rails you still need cross-bars to go over them. On their own they are more of a fashion item.... Quote
